So let us tell you more about our September kit...these perfect Blueberry and Cashew Squares have a buttery pastry base which is topped with juicy in-season blueberries and a moreish crumble topping that has toasted cashew nuts and crunchy demerara sugar sprinkled on for a finishing touch.
We're excited to introduce a new baking hack with this kit - mixing the blueberries, sugar, water and cornflour together, forms a gooey jam once baked that fills the middle of your squares. The creamy and crunchy texture of the cashews works perfectly with the refreshing and sweet flavour of the blueberries - a dreamy combo!
This bake is excellent cold or it can be served warm with a dollop of custard or as Michel Roux’s recommended a crème anglaise. It’s also a great little weekend treat for the kids back at school - it’s super easy and quick to whip up whatever the occasion and we are sure it’s going to be your new go-to baking staple as everyone needs a crumble square in their life.
