We love to dip these oven baked churros into Belgian chocolate and caramel sauces but they are amazing on their own too!

How to make churros baked in the oven:
Method - For the churros:
-
Preheat the oven to 200C. Pour the water, butter, sugar and salt into a saucepan on a medium heat. Heat until the butter has melted and the water is about to simmer.
- Once the water has begun to simmer, take the pan off the heat and add the flour. Beat the mixture vigorously with a wooden spoon until incorporated.
- Place the pan back on a low heat and beat the mixture until it forms a ball and there is little or no residue on the sides of the pan. Tip the mixture into a clean bowl to let it cool for a few minutes, until you can just about touch the dough
- Beat the 2 eggs in a small bowl and slowly add them to the cooled mix, beating thoroughly after the addition of each egg. The mixture will look like it's not going to mix, but it will with some elbow grease!
- The mixture should be a thick consistency that still holds itself, so add the egg cautiously at the end as you may not need it all.
- Pipe the mixture in lines onto a lined baking sheet, leaving around 3-4cm between each as they spread. Use a star nozzle for the authentic churros shape.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until the churros are golden brown and hollow-sounding when tapped lightly.
Churros topping
- Mix the sugar and cinnamon together.
- Roll each baked churro straight into the cinnamon sugar and enjoy!

This mixture can be easily halved or doubled as it uses 2 eggs.
This quantity makes around 18 long churros (which serves just one of us in Bakedin HQ!)
We hope you enjoy your churros and...
Happy baking!
